Your Sunday Musical joy ride is here! Two hours of improvising musicals with some of the most experienced teachers on the improv scene. For an audience, it looks like a miracle, for the performer it feels like flying. Starting from a single word, you will be creating scenes that magically lead into complete songs! During these drop in’s, you’ll be introduced to the core skills of melody and lyrics, rhyming and choruses, leading to the ability to create songs on any topic right there. In a supportive and nurturing environment, you’ll see how to fit songs into scenes and perform with flair and commitment. This is a wide ability class, all welcome. Most importantly, there is no need to be able to sing! Share some of your best worst dating stories to inspire something even more embarrassing - long form improv. And after that The Movie! See everything you'd expect from a movie improvised live on stage -- dramatic camera angles, tense editing, high-flying action sequences and tender denouement. Never-before-seen movies created from audience suggestions that span every era, every style, and every genre, but never with 3D glasses. There will also be a jam if anyone in the audience feels the desire to participate. FREE.

Level 2 of the Maydays shortform improvised comedy courses This 8 week, level 2 course will go more deeply into the techniques that makes improvisation games fly! Character, object work, wordplay, physical comedy. Learn more about the kind of games you like and your own improv superpowers. And do a show at the end for friends and family! What can I expect? A refresher of the principles of improv (listening and saying yes) An opportunity to play ‘Whose line is it anyway’ short form improv games in front of the group How to do some of the trickier performance games Directing your own short form show Who is this course suitable for? Adults aged 18 – 100 Those who are graduates of Maydays level 1 (or equivalent). Those with some acting experience. This course culminates in a show for family and friends, date TBA.
