7:00pm Category: Classes[7:00pm] Comedy School Impro Drop In
Description:
Every Comedy School Impro Drop in Class is completely self-contained and built around a theme or set of skills such as: using audience suggestions or characterization or multi-person scenes or media parodies etc that are equally applicable to short form or long form. They are equally useful for amateur and professional performers, those developing their creative skills, exploring group dynamics or simply on the look-out for some high energy spontaneous fun. They are aimed at all levels above complete beginner, so at least a minimum of experience is expected. Luke Sorba is a globally experienced improviser and improvisation teacher (as well as an actor and writer) who has taken his skills to the USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, the Caribbean and the Middle East as well as the UK and Europe. He has shared the stage with impro veterans such as Paul Merton, Greg Proops, Josie Lawrence, Tony Slattery, Brad Sherwood and Eddie Izzard as well as current stars such as Pippa Evans, Cariad Lloyd, Ruth Bratt, Marcus Brigstocke and Ross Noble. Luke has performed in and devised both long and short form shows from the Improvathon to the Improvasprint, improvised Shakespeares, Pantomimes and Court Room Dramas as well as Theatresports, the Harold and Fish Bowls. He is a co-founder of acclaimed Spontaneous Combustion and Artistic Director of Legends of Improvisation and has a host of TV, radio, live and online credits. The Comedy School has a separate workshop space and green room and free refreshments are available. Testimonials from students include: Brilliant, 10 out of 10, wouldn’t change a thing” “Sorba the Great, Best comedy impro teacher!” “Loved it.
