Advanced Short Form

Description: Advanced Short Form Improvisation: a fun and high-energy course intended for those with some previous improv experience. We'll be learning some performance games that have more moving parts to them, learning about how games work and how to make our own, and rounding out scene work skills. The course will include guessing games, physical games, character work, space/object work, status, playing a relationship, adding information in different ways and layering all of the above to create dynamic scenes, games, and shows. We will also laugh our faces off and make lots of friends!
These classes are suitable for just about everybody, no matter your background. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and most levels of physical fitness and ability can easily be accommodated. You'll also need good basic English skills, but please don't be worried if it's your second language.
8 Thursdays from 7-930, starting September 21. There will be a show on Tuesday November 14 at the Nursery Theatre, Broadgate. Classes are held at the Nursery Training Centre, Capital House, Weston Street SE1 3QD. Email with any questions

About your teacher:
Utku Guder has been fascinated with improv since he first saw it being performed in 2004, as part of a seminar he attended on how to cope with the university entrance exam. After moving to London in 2010, Utku rediscovered improv as part of his foray into acting. In the last 7 years, Utku has done a variety of courses on acting and improv, ranging from stage acting to singing to storytelling and performing in short stage plays. His main passion and source of happiness has been improv though, on which he did countless workshops and performances with local and international groups (including City Academy, Hoopla, Spontaneity Workshop, UCB, among others). He is a proud and excited member of the Improvable and loves to share his fascination and happiness with students while discovering new levels of funny silliness.
