Create, Challenge & Explore at Improfest 2018, Gothenburg, Sweden

Description: A four-day intensive, for intermediate to advanced improvisers, working with the same group and building to a performance. We’ll be looking at what really makes your improv scenes tick and adding a touch of finesse to your performance toolkit.

Subtlety, Space and Specifics

The secret of a great show is variety; of content but also of rhythm and dynamics. In this workshop we’ll be thinking about what’s really important to the scene – how to find new ways of playing, breaking old rhythms, opening up the space and how changing something small can make a big difference.

Musical Safari

Let’s go on a musical expedition to explore our range and play with established structures. We’ll be singing from the heart, using emotion and character to create songs that matter. In the second half, we’re going to get physical! We’ll take our songs and characters into different worlds: spark ideas off each other, sing as an ensemble, or a narrative chorus, go on journeys and see where we end up!

About the Teachers

The teachers are Jen Rowe and Liz Peters from The Maydays. Joe Samuel will be joining for Saturday and Sunday to add music.
