The Nursery/Maydays Never Too Old for Improv – Beginners Improv for the Over 5

Description: Too old for improv? Not likely!

About this Event
Every Monday from 31st August to 5th October, 10am-12pm BST / GMT+1

This 6-week class is an opportunity to try improvised comedy and theatre, focusing on your experiences, needs and skills, as an older person. What do we mean by older people? That's up to you; you can, of course, do any of our courses, but if you fancy learning improv with your peers then this could be perfect for you.

We'll teach the basics of improv comedy – collaboration, commitment, listening and supporting each other – in a gentle and fun way. You don't need any prior knowledge of improvisation or drama, and there's no pressure to be funny. But you will be.

As the course progresses, you'll get better at thinking on your feet, making quick decisions, and the most important part of all: it doesn't matter if you don't get it right. Mistakes are opportunities to make something new and brilliant.

I don't understand Zoom!

No problem, we'll be in contact before the course starts to arrange a session to go through the basics.

I can't come up with ideas quickly

You don't have to – everyone learns at their own pace, and all you have to do is be you, listen and respond.

Min 4 participants, max 12.
